Bronze
castings and machined components are supplied from a recently
renovated foundry and machine shop located in Brantford, Ontario
Canada. The foundry produces a range of bronze castings via
two state of the art Sinto Molding machines. Sinto was chosen
for its advantages over the previous generation of molding
system while being able to utilize existing patterns. Sinto
has significantly reduced shift in casting and facilitating
rapid pattern changes (1 minute) thus making small frequent
runs cost effective for just in time shipments and inventory
minimization.
Our facility is the first in North America to
utilize Beta Set Cold Box Cores for small and medium size
core runs. This facilitates inexpensive plastic tooling. Higher
volume cores are produced with Iron Shell tooling. Finishing
includes traditional grinding and abrasive belts. Trim die
technology has progressed with the use of making effective
cost trimming for medium size runs as well as traditional
high volume runs.
The Bronze facility Quality system is certified
to B51 Pressure Boiler Code by an independent auditor TSSA
(Technical Safety Standards Association). The use of automated
sand testing assures that every batch of sand used is within
specification. Spectrometer for assurance of metal chemistry
as well as physical test facilitates assure metal quality.
In combination with solidification modeling at the design
stage, all work together to assure quality bronze castings
at a competitive price.
